35.1 Command-Line Reference

Parameters for starting Acinta's programs from shortcuts, scripts or the command prompt. Put parameters with spaces in quotes.

Datashop.exe

Parameter Effect
edition=1 Start Datashop Expert (remembered for later starts)
edition=3 Start Datashop Workbook (remembered)
projects=<path> Use this project registration file – see 30.2
<file>.acproj Open this project file (Datashop Expert)
/regserver /com=enable Register Datashop's COM server (done by the installer; needs administrator rights)
/unregserver /com=enable Unregister it

edition=2 (the discontinued Professional edition) starts Expert (build 20086 and later). So does Datashop started via COM without a stored edition.

Example:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Acinta\Datashop.exe" edition=1 "projects=\\server\acinta\projects.dspx"

Hold Shift while Datashop starts to get the login dialog instead of the automatic Windows-name login – see 32.2 Security and Data Access.

Modeller.exe

Parameter Effect
admin Restart Modeller with administrator rights (Windows asks for permission)
projects=<path> Use this project registration file

EnterpriseManager.exe

Parameter Effect
/serverconfig Open Project and mail settings, then exit
/testmail Send a test e-mail, then exit
projects=<path> Use this project registration file

/projectconfig (Jump Start Wizard) doesn't work in the current version.

AcintaServer.exe

Parameter Effect
(none, first start) Without AcintaServer.msx: a setup wizard for the project file, service account and mail settings
/install Register the Windows service
/uninstall Remove the service
/reinstall Remove and register again
/install /SSNoDefaultAccount: /USER:<DOMAIN\user> /PASSWORD:<password> Register the service to run as a specific account

Stop the service before /install or /uninstall – while it runs, a second AcintaServer.exe exits without doing anything.

Usually it's easier to control the service with Windows' own commands (as administrator):

net stop SvcSaturnServer
net start SvcSaturnServer

or Services in Windows (the service is called Acinta Server). Avoid passing passwords on the command line where others can see the process list; set the service account in Services instead.
